Be on the lookout for a new official looking email that appears to be from Microsoft, but is yet another phishing attempt.
As you can see from the image below, this appears to be a legitimate email and confusing enough so that people may click on it.
Closer examination, however, reveals:
- Bad sender address (email@example.com) and
- When I hover the mouse over the link in the email, you can see it’s not Microsoft.
The phishing emails are getting more sophisticated. There is nothing in this email that would have triggered a spam filter, careful attention before clicking is the only way to prevent an infection.
